It's already felt like summer for a couple of weeks, and I am so happy to know that it's all still ahead of me. But it's the season that goes the quickest and thus it is crucial to plot it out somewhat before it all goes away. I've made a summer list for maybe 15 years and considering I usually accomplish at least half of these, it's effective. This is certainly not a complete list, but a good place to start for Summer 2019:
- Paddleboard at least once
- July 1 river picnic (it's tradition!)
- Drink Tony martinis at Birch Bay
- Sew another top and a summer dress
- Have a new deck by August
- Saturday morning bike rides to the market (more than once!)
- Go to the other markets: Kendall Night Market, Perry, Fairwood
- Bike the Trail of the Coeur d'Alenes (Wallace/Kellogg)
- See Les Miserables in August
- Celebrate the 50th anniversary of the moon landing on July 20
- See The Merry Wives of Windsor at the park in Liberty Lake (July)
- Go to an Indians game
- Visit Loon Lake
- Pay no attention to presidential candidacy news
- Casually watch the Tour de France but totally dominate it on Joel's fantasy cycling site
- Go swimming with my Splash Pass
- Knit Christmas stockings (ha)
- Planetarium show, or just find some old episodes of Jack Horkheimer: Star Gazer and go outside to look at the stars
- Sky Ride over Spokane Falls
- Spokatopia sounds intriguing
- Hike around Mt. Spokane with Luna
- Morning movies: Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (July 26); Blinded By the Light (August 14); Where'd You Go Bernadette (Aug. 16)
- See the 40th anniversary showing of The Muppet Movie, and the 25th anniversary showing of Forrest Gump (what?!)
- Watch Stranger Things on hot July nights
- Bike to waffles (and ice cream) at the Scoop
- Take the scenic route to Boise
What else should we do?
