Right now it's just straight knitting, so it's something I can work on each evening without having to think. It does take a while to get through a row but somehow I don't mind. Eventually it will be long-sleeved. I want to find some big wooden buttons, too. It's lightweight and I think it will look great with some dark jeans and a solid tank top in the summer. Not that I needed another striped item in my wardrobe...but I just couldn't help it. My eyes always go for stripes.

Another year, another sweater
I've embarked on a really fun and fairly easy cardigan project. It calls for fingering weight yarn, which is pretty fine and requires small needles and a bunch of skeins - it could have been an expensive project if I wasn't careful. I opted for a bunch of Nature Spun yarn for $4.50 each. There's a beautiful variety of colors to choose from, but being drawn to granola and earthy palates, I went for "Ash" and "Nervous Green." (The link to the pattern on Ravelry here.)

Margot is very interested, indeed. She sits next to me on the couch sometimes, watching quietly but earnestly. She pounces at last, I shoo her away. She darts off in a huff, as if to say "I can't handle this!" Such a smart kitty to avoid the constant temptation. It may not always be this way...
