Huckleberries and weathervanes

Feeling the need to backtrack what's been going on around here, for now I can only point you to summery moments from last night.

When we stopped to take this wheat photo (up on the Palouse Highway), a woman driving from the same direction slowed down to see what we were doing. When we continued on, we saw her stopped just up the road with her camera, too. It's kind of a neat thing when we can cause another human being to stop and smell the roses. At least that's what I think we did.
There were a gazillion deer up here. I couldn't get the camera out fast enough to capture Bambi and Thumper communing on the side of the road before the deer scurried away. The bunny was just a blur.
And then we got home and I tried out an idea I saw on a blog somewhere - individual huckleberry crumbles. No leftovers. So yummy.
